Read an update from our Chair below

Dear TCC member

I hope you are all well and looking forward to another cricket season at TCC. On the 22nd March we held our AGM in the clubhouse. In front of a small, committed membership the following were elected:

Graeme Hallam- Chair, Peter Brown- Treasurer, Paul Malcolm- Secretary and Ed Snelders – Welfare (safeguarding) officer.

As the AGM approached, we decided to create another position, Vice Chair. We will be putting together a “job description” for this role and advertising it to the membership for any proposals. In the meantime, Andrew Lineham, current board member will take on the role as Acting Vice Chair.

Other board members appointed were Vince Howe, Richard Hay, Andrew Davison, Marcus Turner, Anthony Turner and Joanne Chater.
We are also looking at restructuring how we go about tackling some of the day-to-day management of the club and balancing that with more time for strategic planning.

The key areas will include; Senior Cricket, Junior Cricket, Bar, Grounds and Project 175

We are looking for members to contribute to the running of the club by joining a working group. Each working group will be led by a current board member.
If you feel like you could make a contribution to one or more of the working groups please get in touch.

I was delighted to award our fixture secretary and board member Anthony Turner life membership. “Bunsen” has been a member at TCC for over 30 years, a club stalwart, resilient batsman, superb fielder, willing keeper at times, regular volunteer at our fireworks night, diligent fixtures secretary, involved in many fundraising activities and all-round club legend. Well done “Bunsen”!

Also I would like to thank all who turned up last weekend to help with our GET SET WEEKEND. We are running this again this upcoming weekend so if anyone is free to lend a hand with a paint brush or some odd jobs for around the grounds it will be greatly appreciated!

I look forward to seeing you all at the club at some point during the next few months...

Graeme Hallam
Chairman
Tynemouth Cricket Club
