The 1st XI were in action again on Sunday hoping to bounce back from a heavy defeat to a strong Sunderland side 24 hours previously. Tynemouth took to the field after loosing the toss in sunny conditions. Sacriston struggled from the off on what had looked like a good batting track with wickets falling at regular intervals from the off. Overseas Pro Mo Ali posted a classy 41 before being dismissed to a low full toss from Ryan Macciocchi which was caught brilliantly by Ruhan Pretorious at Short Cover. The only other Batsman to provide any resilience was Young No9 Jack Hardy who played some excellent shots before being Stranded on 26no. Sacriston were all out for 134 in the 38th over with Pretorious taking 3-27 , Chris Beever 2-15 and the pick of the bowlers 16 Year Old Ryan Macchiocchi 4-20. Tynemouth replied with confidence with Debnam recording a patient 43, Phil Morse 22 and Pretorious 40 with the latter 2 both hitting 2 Blammies. Greg Hollins 14 not out and Straughan 8 not out finished the job in the 26th over for a six wickets win. Hopefully Tynemouth can kick on from this performance when they travel to Blaydon next week who will be looking to avenge the defeat last game of last season which saw them loose the League Title at the hands off an excellent team performance.
